I was in a security line at a US airport over the weekend and the woman in front of me did something interesting. After taking off her boots and fishing out her laptop, she took out her Louis Vuitton toiletry bag and quite nimbly (she’d clearly done this before) poured it’s contents into a clear Ziploc she had with her. She happened to be sitting near me in the same boarding area a while later and I noticed she poured her stuff back into the far more attractive bag. We talked for a teeny bit.. I told her I noticed what she did and that I had been thinking for a while that there is a need/market for a “designer”, security-friendly toiletry bag. She’d been thinking the same thing. She wants Louis Vuitton clear on clear.
Seriously… you know who SHOULD do something like this as a promo for passengers? Virgin America and Banana Republic.
